Part 1: Gumnut Cottage Accommodation Cancellation Policy:
- This section does not relate to Elopement, Proposal or other Special Event Bookings – please refer to Part 2 below for these terms.
- Accommodation cancellations with more than 15 days notice prior to your arrival date will receive a full refund.
- Accommodation cancellations with between 8-15 days notice of your arrival date will receive a 20% refund of the booking total plus the cleaning fee
- Unfortunately no accommodation cancellations are accepted within 8 days of your arrival date. You will be charged the total of the reserved stay under all circumstances. Written notification must still be provided for all cancellations.
- In the unfortunate event that Gumnut Cottage must cancel your accommodation, for circumstances beyond our control, a full refund will be provided. However we will not be held liable for any further costs incurred. We strongly recommend travel insurance (including for domestic travel) to cover cancellations, travel delays and all other unforeseen incidents and accidents.
Part 2: Gumnut Cottage Elopement, Proposal & Other Special Event Packages (including Photography):
- We strongly recommend our clients take out Wedding and / or Travel Insurance for all Elopement Bookings
- Elopement payments are split into two components – The initial 50% Retainer to secure the date and then the 50% balance which is due two weeks prior to the day.
- Part 2A: Initial 50% Retainer Fee – Due to Secure the Date:
- Non-Refundable – There is no refund on the initial 50% Elopement Booking Retainer Fee once this has been paid under any circumstances.
- Mel is a full time Wedding photographer and her clients book her services up 3 years in advance. Once a booking is in her calendar she will decline other bookings to prioritise existing clients – Your booking retainer is non-refundable for this reason.
- More than 15 Days Cancellation notice: Our clients are however welcome to re-allocate this retainer amount towards another elopement or accommodation booking at Gumnut cottage – this is ONLY the case where more than 15 days notice has been provided.
- Less than 15 Days Cancellation notice: If less than 15 days notice is provided for cancellations, then unfortunately this retainer fee is null and void and not able to be reallocated for another date.
- Part 2B: 50% Balance – Due Two Weeks Prior to the Booking:
- More than 15 Days Cancellation notice: This remaining 50% fee will not be payable (ie. it will be written off) for cancellations with more than 15 days notice.
- 8-15 Days Cancellation notice: Cancellations with between 8-15 days notice of your arrival date will receive a 20% refund of the accommodation portion of your booking total (plus the cleaning fee will be repaid)
- Less than 8 Days Cancellation notice: Unfortunately no refunds are payable for cancellations within 8 days of your arrival date. You will be charged the total of the reserved stay and elopement fees under all circumstances. Written notification must still be provided for all cancellations.
- In the unfortunate event that Gumnut Cottage must cancel your Elopmement booking, for circumstances beyond our control, a full refund will be provided. However we will not be held liable for any further costs incurred. As above, we strongly recommend wedding and / or travel insurance (including for domestic travel) to cover cancellations, travel delays and all other unforeseen incidents and accidents.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
Please read these terms and conditions carefully. When you make a booking, you accept on behalf of your party the terms of these booking conditions. It is your responsibility to ensure that all of the details on your confirmation documents are correct and to bring to our attention any errors or discrepancies within 48 hours of your booking.
Guests accept and are held fully responsible for their visitors or children which may result in injury or harm when staying or visiting the property and its’ surrounds. Any breach of these terms and conditions may result in immediate eviction with no refund or cancellation of your booking.
CHECK-IN + CHECK-OUT
Standard check in time is 3pm on the day of arrival and the property is to be vacated by 10am on the day of departure. Early arrivals and late check outs are at the discretion of Management and must be requested at the time of booking and can only be confirmed 1 day prior to arrival or departure. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate early arrivals and late departures, the only way to absolutely ensure an early check-in or late check-out is to book an extra night.
NUMBER OF GUESTS
At no time during your occupancy is the number of guests staying to exceed the number booked, unless prior approval is sought and given by management in writing. The use of extra beds other than the number booked will attract an additional tariff.
CHILDREN
Unfortunately Gumnut cottage is adults only and there is no space for Children to stay as it is a Tiny Cottage with one Queen Bed only.
FIREPLACES
Fireplaces are to be operated by adults over the age of 18 only and are operated at your own risk. You will be held liable for any damage you cause including smoke or ember damage from incorrect use. If using a wood fire, you will ensure the fire is switched off or put out entirely whenever you leave the premises even for short periods. No children should be on site, however if they are, supervision of children around all fireplaces is required and is the responsibility of parents/guardians. ALL fireplaces and their external casings can get very hot and may cause serious burns if touched. It is strongly recommended that the fireplaces not be operated when children are staying onsite.
NOISE
Disturbance to neighbours including excessive noise, music and unruly behaviour is prohibited and may result in eviction without refund. If a noise complaint is received; a first warning will be given. If a second complaint is received this will result in immediate eviction with no refund.
